the friend in your corner

for the messy, meaningful parts of life

Real talk, honest stories, and a community that reminds you: you don’t have to figure it all out alone.

I’m Viridiana –

eldest daughter, first-gen college grad, 9-year HR practitioner at Google, professional overthinker, recovering people-pleaser, proud dog mom, cumbia dancer in my living room, and someone who has always believed that sharing your story is one of the most powerful things you can do.

I’m also the first woman in my family to buy a house, travel internationally, and navigate corporate America without a roadmap. And while I’m proud of all of it — I’ve learned to do it my way. Not the way I thought I was “supposed” to, not the way that looked good on paper, but in a way that actually feels like me.

That tension between expectation and authenticity? That’s what I write about. That’s what I live. And that’s what brought me here.

This started because I needed it too.

Long before I had a newsletter, I was hungry for stories that sounded like mine. Stories from women navigating corporate spaces without a blueprint, from eldest daughters carrying invisible weight, from first-gen professionals figuring out who they are beyond what they achieve.

I didn’t find enough of them — so I started sharing my own.

Perfectamente in Progress was born from a simple belief: when we share our real experiences, we give other people permission to be real too.

Every vulnerable story I’ve told has come back to me a hundredfold — in replies from readers who said “me too,” in conversations that felt like exhales, in the quiet reminder that none of us are as alone in this as we think.

Everything I create is rooted in four things I genuinely believe:

Perfectly Imperfect Progress: Growth isn’t linear and it’s not supposed to be. I celebrate the pivots, the setbacks, and the small wins just as much as the big ones — because the messy middle is where most of the real living happens.

Protecting Your Peace: Boundaries aren’t selfish — they’re survival. I’ll always advocate to prioritize yourself, even (especially) when your culture, your family, or your job makes that feel impossible.

Joy, Just Because: You don’t have to earn delight or justify happiness. Some things are just good, and that’s enough. I’m a big believer in claiming joy without needing a reason.

Roots & Wings: Your identity isn’t something to minimize for other people’s comfort. I share my experience as a first-gen Mexican American woman not to speak for anyone else, but because showing up fully — heritage included — creates space for others to do the same.

Come be part of it

If you’re looking for a space that celebrates progress over perfection,
that honors where you come from while cheering you toward where you’re going — you’re in the right place.

With a background in psychology and a love for honest storytelling,
I bring frameworks and lived experience to everything I create —
because real resonates more than polished, every time.
